An Italian saying goes “don’t let the peasant know how good cheese is with pears” (al contadino non far sapere quanto รจ buono il formaggio con le pere), which roughly means: if you know something good don’t tell anybody, especially if it’s something within everyone’s reach but not obvious.
A bit selfish you might say, and I agree. Italian cuisine is full of cheese and pears, good simple things that combined together make something even better. You only have to know.

My name is Andrea (a masculine name in Italy, unlike the rest of the world), I live in Dublin and work for an American IT company (what else?).

Enjoy.
